Railway updates for Diwali and Chhath Puja travel, including new trains and schedule changes.
Railways are all set for the heavy rush of travelers during Diwali and Chhath Puja. They have planned to run special trains, including Vande Bharat, from Central Station to manage the crowd effectively.
Four special trains will operate between Patna and New Delhi, which will also benefit districts in Purvanchal. Currently, it’s hard to get tickets for most trains, leading to overcrowding in coaches.
The special Vande Bharat from New Delhi to Patna will run every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday from October 11 to November 15. The train leaves New Delhi at 8:35 PM and arrives at Kanpur Central at 1:30 AM, with a short stop of five minutes before departing at 1:35 AM.
There will be 16 coaches in the special Vande Bharat. Another reserved Vande Bharat will run on different days from Patna to New Delhi, arriving in Kanpur Central at 5:50 PM. This train will have 20 coaches and will leave for New Delhi at 1:30 PM.
However, one train is canceled, and six others will run partially canceled due to some maintenance work. The Lalgarh-Prayagraj train will not run on October 8, while others have similar changes around the same dates.
