What’s inside:

This article informs about the approval for electric traction work on the Vijayawada-Secunderabad railway line and its impact, along with updates on train cancellations due to the Monsoon.

The railway department has made an important decision to improve train speed between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana capitals. They have approved the electric traction work for the Secunderabad-Vijayawada route, which is expected to enhance the efficiency of train services.

This project will cost around ₹188.31 crores, and once completed in three years, it will allow for faster and more capable trains on this route. This means that passengers can expect better travel times and improved freight services as well.

The electric traction system will provide power to the trains, helping them run faster. Once the work is done, the travel time between Secunderabad and Vijayawada will be reduced, which is great news for commuters and businesses alike.

In addition to this, due to the recent impact of the Monsoon and the ‘Mohinth’ cyclone, several trains have faced cancellations, diversions, or delays. Some services were restored after the rain eased, but a few trains were still canceled or rescheduled.

Railway officials are continuously monitoring the situation and making adjustments to ensure that train services resume smoothly. They are working to keep passengers informed about any changes to train schedules in the coming days.

Summary:

  • Electric traction work approved for the Vijayawada-Secunderabad railway line.

  • Project cost is ₹188.31 crores, aimed to complete in three years.

  • Expect faster trains and better travel times for passengers.

  • Several trains canceled or rerouted due to cyclone effects.

  • Railway officials are monitoring and updating train schedules regularly.
