What’s inside:

The article discusses ongoing issues with the food quality provided on Vande Bharat trains in Kerala, highlighting complaints about expired items and hygiene concerns.

The Southern Railway is facing criticism for not cancelling its catering contract with Brindavan Foods, despite many complaints about the food served on Vande Bharat trains in Kerala. Passengers have reported serious issues, including expired juice boxes and worms found in curries.

The situation worsened when the catering company managed to get a stay order from the Chennai High Court, preventing any immediate action against them. This has left many passengers frustrated as they continue to receive subpar meals during their journeys.

Most complaints have come from passengers using the Thiruvananthapuram-Mangaluru Vande Bharat train. They are unhappy with the quality of food, especially after encountering problems like expired products. The railway authorities are under pressure to address these concerns as they have been informed that Brindavan Foods is a repeat offender.

Despite being fined heavily for violating food safety and hygiene regulations, Brindavan Foods continues to operate. The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation has stated that they did not give this contract, so they are not involved in the issue.

The Southern Railway now needs to decide on its next steps as the matter is still pending in court. Passengers hope that action will be taken soon to ensure better food quality on trains.

Summary:

  • Southern Railway is criticized for poor food quality on Vande Bharat trains.

  • Complaints include expired juice and worms in curries.

  • Brindavan Foods received a stay order from the court, halting action.

  • Passengers are frustrated with the ongoing issues.

  • Southern Railway must decide on further actions as the situation develops.
