Three Boys Killed, One Injured as Vande Bharat Train Hits Them Near Jogbani-Katihar Rail Track in Purnea

A tragic train accident in Purnia led to the death of three boys and serious injuries to two others early in the morning.



In a sad incident in Purnia’s Kasba area, three boys lost their lives after being hit by the Vande Bharat train near the Yavanpur railway gate. This accident took place early in the morning, around 5 AM, while the boys were returning home after attending a local fair.

All four boys were from Chandpur Bhanga in the Banmankhi block. They had come to Kasba to enjoy the fair and were walking along the railway tracks when the train approached from behind. Sadly, they did not realize the danger in time.


The deceased are identified as 15-year-old Sundar Kumar, 14-year-old Jigar Kumar, and 16-year-old Rohit Kumar. There was also one injured boy, 14-year-old Kuldeep Kumar, who is in critical condition and has lost a leg in the accident.

The police have taken the bodies for post-mortem and are looking into the incident. Family members mentioned that the boys worked at a local makhana processing center and had gone to the fair, possibly trying to escape the pressure from their contractor.


As the news spread, many people gathered at the site, leading to an emotional scene. The local police and railway protection force are investigating further details of this unfortunate event.
