The Vande Bharat Express between Tirunelveli and Chennai will add more coaches to accommodate more passengers starting in September 2025.



The Tirunelveli to Chennai Egmore Vande Bharat Express is set for an upgrade. Starting from September 24, 2025, this train will increase its coaches from 16 to 20. This change will help more passengers travel comfortably between these two busy cities.

The Southern Railway announced that four new chair car coaches will be added to the existing train. This means that the total number of seats will rise to 1,440, which is an increase of 312 seats from the previous 1,128 seats available.


With this new setup, the train will now have 18 chair cars, including driving trailer coaches, and 2 executive chair car coaches. This is a great improvement for travelers who have been asking for more seats on this popular route.
