A serious train accident was narrowly avoided when a nilgai collided with two trains in the Gaya-DDU rail section.
Recently, there was a close call between nilgai and trains in the Gaya-Didihat (DDU) railway section. This incident happened on Monday evening between Paraiya and Kashta stations.
During the incident, a nilgai was hit by the Vande Bharat Express train traveling from Varanasi to Ranchi. Thankfully, there were no injuries to passengers, but the collision disrupted train services on both tracks.
This situation caused some delays for travelers. The Devanagari Rishikesh-Hawrah Express was also affected, facing nearly an hour of delays. Passengers experienced some inconvenience due to the interruptions.
The nilgai died on the spot after the collision. Efforts were required to remove its heavy body from the railway track, which further delayed operations. Later, a nilgai calf was also involved in another collision with the Gaya-DDU MEMU passenger train.
Rail authorities have installed safety walls on both sides of the tracks to prevent animals from getting too close. However, these walls have gaps, allowing animals to wander onto the tracks, leading to these unfortunate incidents.
