What’s inside:

This article talks about the impact of the Kudmi community’s protest for ST status on train services in the Chakradharpur region.

Recently, the Kudmi community has been protesting for Scheduled Tribe (ST) status since September 20. This movement has caused some disruptions, especially in train services over the weekend.

On Sunday, several trains were cancelled due to the ongoing protest. However, the protest officially ended on September 20, around 5:30 PM, which allowed train operations to get back to normal in the Chakradharpur rail division.

Even after the protest ended, some train services were still affected on Sunday. A total of nine trains, including the Tata-Kharagpur MEMU and Rourkela-Hawrah Vande Bharat Express, were cancelled. Passengers faced difficulties as they were left without these services.

In terms of changes, some trains took alternative routes. For example, the Tata-Ernakulam train on September 21 travelled via Gamharia instead of its usual route. Meanwhile, the Bhubaneswar-Delhi train continued on its planned path.

As of now, train services are gradually returning to normal. Passengers can expect regular services to resume soon, but they should check their train schedules for any updates or changes.

Summary:

  • Kudmi community protests for ST status affected train services.

  • Protests began on September 20 and ended the same day by evening.

  • Nine trains were cancelled, causing issues for passengers.

  • Some trains took alternative routes during the disruptions.

  • Train services are expected to normalize soon; passengers should check schedules.
