Two Killed by Vande Bharat Train in Kolhan Region, Including Railway Engineer Manoj Das

Two tragic incidents involving the Vande Bharat train resulted in the deaths of two individuals in the Kolhan region.



In Kolhan, two people lost their lives after being hit by the Vande Bharat train. The incidents took place in the East Singhbhum and Saraikela-Kharsawan districts recently.

The first incident happened between Chakulia and Kanimahuli stations. A 34-year-old man named Santosh Das was struck by the train while he was heading to work at a petrol pump. The details surrounding the accident are still unclear.


The second incident involved a railway engineer named Manoj Das, aged 45. He was working on the tracks between Sini and Gamharia stations when he accidentally came in the path of the train. Sadly, he did not survive.

Manoj Das had been working for the railway engineering department for six years and was stationed at Adityapur. His family resides in Gamharia, and they have been informed about the tragic news.


The police have recovered both bodies and are coordinating with the families for further arrangements. Investigations into the exact circumstances of these incidents are ongoing.
