This article shares news about the proposed extension of the Vande Bharat train from Udaipur to Surat in Gujarat.
Recently, Udaipur MP Dr. Mannalal Rawat wrote to the Railway Minister, Ashwini Vaishnaw, about extending the Vande Bharat train service from Udaipur to Surat. This proposal aims to improve connectivity for passengers traveling between these cities.
The electrification of the Udaipur-Ahmedabad railway track has been completed, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi has recently inaugurated it. This means that soon, people from South Rajasthan will have direct train services to cities like Surat, Mumbai, and even areas in South India.
The new Vande Bharat train is expected to run from Udaipur to Asarwa, departing at 6:10 AM and reaching Asarwa by 10:25 AM. It will leave Asarwa at 5:45 PM and return to Udaipur by 10:00 PM. The train will be stationed at Asarwa for over seven hours, providing ample time for passengers.
Dr. Rawat emphasized the need to extend the train service to Surat, as many traders and common people from the Mewar and Vaghad regions often travel to Surat for various reasons. Surat is known as a major business hub, and this extension could provide a safe and convenient travel option for many.
In his letter, Dr. Rawat urged the Railway Minister to direct the concerned officials to consider this extension. He also raised this demand during a meeting of MPs from the Ajmer and Jodhpur divisions held in Jaipur.
