Vande Bharat Express Launches Between Varanasi and Meerut, Offering Direct Connectivity for First Time

The Vande Bharat Express train service between Varanasi and Meerut has started today, offering a faster travel option with new timings and stops.



A new train service, the Vande Bharat Express, has begun today between Varanasi and Meerut. The first train left Meerut at 6:35 AM, while the train from Varanasi departed at 9:10 AM.

This train connects Meerut to Varanasi directly, making it the first service of its kind. It will also stop in Ayodhya, extending the existing route that previously only reached Lucknow.


The distance of 783 kilometers between Meerut and Varanasi will now be covered in just 12 hours. Earlier, passengers had to travel through Lucknow or Delhi, which took more time due to changing trains.

Travelers are looking forward to the benefits this service brings. Passengers like Vivek and Kunal mentioned that this train saves time and offers a comfortable journey. Avani Gupta from Meerut expressed pride in being among the first passengers to use the train for a visit to Kashi Vishwanath.


The Vande Bharat Express will have scheduled stops at Ayodhya and Lucknow, with trains departing at specific times throughout the day. The launch ceremony included local politicians and railway officials who flagged off the first trains.
