What’s inside:
A new Vande Bharat train is set to run between Kathgodam and Delhi, bringing improved travel options to Uttarakhand.
A big update for Uttarakhand! Soon, a new Vande Bharat train will start running between Kathgodam and Delhi. This will be the first Vande Bharat service in the Izzatnagar division of the Northeast Railway.
The preparations for the new train are almost complete. Currently, Uttarakhand has two Vande Bharat trains. One runs from Dehradun to Anand Vihar in Delhi, and the other goes from Dehradun to Lucknow.
This new train will be a great relief for travelers in the Kumaon and Terai regions. A special 90 km track has been made from Kathgodam to Rampur to allow semi-high-speed trains to run safely at speeds up to 160 km/h.
The railway has proposed to operate the Kathgodam-Delhi Vande Bharat train six days a week. However, there is a challenge with the maintenance facility at Kathgodam, which currently handles more than six trains.
Railway officials have sent a proposal for this new train and 11 other routes to the Railway Board. Once they get approval, the launch details will be clearer.
Summary:
- A new Vande Bharat train will connect Kathgodam and Delhi.
- This will be the first Vande Bharat train in the Izzatnagar division.
- The train will operate six days a week, pending maintenance facility approval.
- A new 90 km upgraded track has been created for high-speed travel.
- More details will come once the Railway Board approves the proposals.
