What’s inside:
A woman attempted suicide on the railway tracks in Meerut, but the police saved her in time.
On Tuesday evening in Meerut, a serious incident was avoided when a woman tried to jump in front of a Vande Bharat train. She was on the railway tracks near the Kankarkheda flyover, looking to end her life.
The woman was stopped by the Government Railway Police (GRP) just in time. They noticed her suspicious behavior as she approached the tracks. Upon talking to her, they learned that she was facing domestic issues due to her husband’s drinking and violence.
After rescuing her, the police called in a female constable for support. The woman shared her distressing situation, mentioning that she had come to the tracks after a fight with her husband. The GRP arranged for her counseling and later handed her over to her family.
Remarkably, the train arrived just a minute after they moved her from the track. If the police had not intervened, it could have ended in tragedy.
In another incident, a delivery man died after falling from a train at Govindpur station in Kanpur. His family claims that overcrowding on the train led to the accident, and the GRP is investigating the matter.
