Youth Jumps in Front of Vande Bharat Express Train Near Babhnaan, Body Gets Stuck in Engine, Rescue Efforts Underway

A tragic incident where a young man jumped in front of the Vande Bharat Express train, resulting in his death.



In a sad event on Sunday morning, a 35-year-old man took his own life by jumping in front of the Vande Bharat Superfast Express train near Babhnaan, Basti. This happened around 6:30 AM when the train was traveling from Gorakhpur to Lucknow.

The train was approaching the 220 railway crossing when the man suddenly jumped. The impact was severe, and his body got stuck in the engine. The train driver applied emergency brakes, stopping the train immediately.


Due to this incident, the train was halted for about 25 minutes. Railway staff and local police worked together to recover the man’s body from the engine. The deceased was identified as Mathura Prasad, who lived in Bhatha Jungle Kalwar Purwa area.

Reports suggest that Mathura had been mentally ill for the past two years and was receiving treatment. His family confirmed his condition, indicating that this might have led to his tragic decision.


After recovering the body, the police sent it for post-mortem examination. The local community gathered at the scene, shocked and saddened by this unfortunate incident.
