The introduction of Amrit Bharat Express trains marks a significant enhancement in rail connectivity for the people of Bareilly. Following the successful operation of Vande Bharat trains, three Amrit Bharat Express services will soon be launched, with the Northern Railway and North Eastern Railway currently working on the timetable.
The new timetable is set to be implemented on January 1, and the Amrit Bharat Express trains will be incorporated into this schedule, thereby expanding the travel options available to passengers.
Train Specifications and Features
The Amrit Bharat Express trains will consist of 22 coaches, significantly more than the eight coaches of the Vande Bharat Express. Among these, eight coaches will be designated for unreserved seating, while 12 will be sleeper coaches, including provisions for disabled passengers.
The trains will operate at high speeds, and while fares will be slightly lower than those of Vande Bharat, they are expected to offer a luxurious travel experience for passengers. The Railway Board has approved the operation of 26 Amrit Bharat Express trains, including routes such as Bhagat Ki Kothi to Gorakhpur and Chhapra to Amritsar.
Addressing Passenger Demand
The introduction of the Amrit Bharat Express trains is anticipated to alleviate the overcrowding experienced on several routes, particularly the Amritsar-Chhapra and Amritsar-Saharsa lines. With a high demand for confirmed tickets on these routes, the new trains are expected to ease the pressure on existing services and provide long-distance passengers with more options for securing reservations.
Public Relations Officer of the Izzatnagar Division, Rajendra Singh, stated that work on the operational details is ongoing at the Railway Board level, and fare reductions are anticipated, with more information on the number and timetable of the Amrit Bharat trains to be released soon.
