Timing Changes for Namo Bharat Train
On the occasion of Bhai Dooj, the Namo Bharat train service running between Ghaziabad and Meerut in Uttar Pradesh will undergo a change in schedule. Starting on Sunday, November 3, 2024, the train will commence operations at 6 am, two hours earlier than its usual Sunday schedule. This adjustment has been made by the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) to accommodate the increased number of passengers during the festival, ensuring greater convenience in transportation for travelers.
Operational Details and Frequency Enhancements
The Namo Bharat train will operate from 6 am to 10 pm on the day of Bhai Dooj. Typically, the train runs from 6 am on weekdays and Saturdays, while Sunday services begin at 8 am. To further enhance the travel experience, RRTS has indicated that it will consider increasing the frequency of trains as needed. The service features a dedicated ladies coach located as the second coach when traveling towards Meerut, and the second-to-last coach when heading towards Delhi, ensuring safety and comfort for female passengers.
Milestones and Future Expansions
The Namo Bharat train service has successfully completed one year of operation, with over 4 million passengers utilizing the service on the 42 km corridor between Sahibabad and Meerut South, which connects nine stations. Additionally, plans are in place for a significant corridor expansion of 54 kilometers, extending from Sahibabad to New Ashok Nagar, with trial runs currently underway.
