Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually inaugurate the newly redeveloped Gangapur City Railway Station on July 17, 2026. This transformation, carried out under the prestigious Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, marks a significant milestone for rail connectivity in the region. The event will commence at the station premises at 2:00 PM, followed by the Prime Minister’s virtual address at 3:45 PM.
Key highlights of the project include:
• Redevelopment cost of approximately ₹25 crore.
• Modernized station building with three new waiting rooms and four toilet blocks.
• A massive 10,000 square meter circulating area for better traffic flow.
• Installation of a 12-meter-wide foot overbridge, new platform shelters, and improved surfacing.
• Inclusion of lifts, escalators, and comprehensive facilities for persons with disabilities.
A Modernized Hub for Passengers
Managed by the Kota Division of the West Central Railway, the station has undergone a complete facelift to meet modern travel standards. The redevelopment project was completed at an estimated cost of ₹25 crore, ensuring that the station is now equipped to handle increased passenger footfall with ease. The focus has been heavily placed on inclusivity, with the station now featuring tactile paths, ramps, wheelchairs, help booths, and modern signage to ensure it is fully accessible to all passengers, including those with disabilities.
Boosting Regional Growth and Connectivity
Saurabh Jain, the Senior Divisional Commercial Manager and Public Relations Officer, has confirmed that all developmental work is complete and the facility is ready to serve the public. Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Anil Kalra highlighted that this upgrade is designed to offer a safer and more convenient experience, which is expected to catalyze regional tourism, trade, and overall economic growth for Gangapur City.
The inauguration ceremony promises to be a grand affair, bringing together Members of Parliament, MLAs, railway officials, students, and local passengers. The event will feature a series of engaging activities, including cultural performances, award distribution ceremonies, and special film screenings to celebrate this new chapter in the station’s history.
