Heavy rainfall and floods in Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab have caused major disruptions. Many trains have been cancelled as the railway tracks between Kathua and Madhopur are damaged due to the severe weather.

As a result of this situation, 47 trains including the Vande Bharat and Rajdhani Express have been cancelled. The Northern Railway’s spokesperson confirmed that repair work is ongoing but trains will remain cancelled for the time being.


Passengers are facing significant difficulties, especially those who have been trying to travel for the past few days. The cancelled trains include popular routes like New Delhi to Jammu and New Delhi to Katra.

In Himachal Pradesh, Chamba district is facing landslides, leading to destruction of homes and displacing many families. Some villages have been completely buried, and people are seeking refuge in temporary shelters.


Authorities are intensifying relief efforts, but continuous rainfall is making the situation worse. Communication lines are down, leaving many people unable to contact their families.
