At approximately 8:30 PM, the team spotted the young girl sitting alone on Platform Number 1. Upon initial questioning, she identified herself as a resident of Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh.
The Girl’s Journey and Intentions
During the inquiry, the minor revealed that she had travelled from her maternal home in Balurghat, South Dinajpur, to Shalimar station. She admitted that she had left home without informing her mother or family members. Disturbingly, the child disclosed that she had planned to board train number 18047 Amravati Express to travel to Goa. It was clear that the girl was travelling unaccompanied and without any adult supervision or consent.

Following the rescue, the RPF personnel immediately took the girl into protective custody and brought her to the RPF Post at Shalimar to complete the necessary documentation. It was discovered that a missing person case had already been registered at the Kumarganj Police Station in South Dinajpur, West Bengal. After completing all mandated legal formalities and ensuring the safety of her belongings, the girl was safely handed over to the Railway Child Helpline in Howrah for her continued care, protection, and eventual reunion with her family.
