What’s inside:

This article discusses the delays in flights and trains in Patna due to fog and smog conditions.

On Monday morning, Patna faced flight delays at Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport because of fog and smog. The visibility was low, which caused 14 flights to be late, both in departure and arrival.

The flights to and from Delhi and Mumbai were particularly affected. For example, an Indigo flight to Delhi was delayed by nearly two hours, while another Indigo flight to Mumbai took off one hour late. Air India’s flight to Mumbai also arrived an hour and a half late.

Passengers traveling to Pune and Hyderabad experienced delays as well. Some flights were delayed by over an hour, leading to inconvenience for many travelers. Although airlines communicated the delays via messages and emails, some passengers still expressed frustration on social media.

Airport officials mentioned that the sudden humidity in the weather created a layer of smog, which made it necessary for planes to wait longer for takeoff and landing. Conditions are expected to improve, but travelers should check their flight status beforehand.

Train services were also affected on Monday, with many trains running late due to heavy traffic and technical issues. Passengers at stations like Patna Junction faced long waits, and several trains, including special festival trains, experienced significant delays.

Summary:

  • Flight services in Patna were delayed due to fog and smog.

  • 14 flights experienced delays, especially to Delhi and Mumbai.

  • Passengers were informed via messages, but many were still upset.

  • Train operations also faced delays, causing inconvenience for travelers.

  • Travelers are advised to check their flight and train statuses.
