The Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya (PDDUP) Rail Division is taking new steps to protect the environment. As part of a green energy drive, the division will install a new solar plant with 80 kW capacity. This move aims to reduce the reliance on traditional electricity and move towards sustainable energy sources.

What are the new solar energy plans in PDDUP Division?
The division is focusing on multiple solar projects to improve energy efficiency. Apart from the new 80 kW plant, there is a proposal to make the ETTC building Net Zero or Net Zero Plus by installing a 70 kW rooftop solar plant. Additionally, a larger 2 MW rooftop solar plant will be installed at Gaya Station to cut down grid power usage.
How much solar energy was generated previously?
The division already has a foundation of green energy through existing grid-connected solar plants. The performance of these plants is as follows:

What measures are being taken for energy efficiency?
Vishwanath Mandal, the Public Relations Officer of PDDUP Mandal, stated that the railways are continuously working to save energy. The division is using LED lighting and energy-efficient equipment across its premises.
