Madhupur Railway Station Update: New platforms and yard remodeling to improve train services

Eastern Railway Howrah General Manager Milind Deouskar visited Madhupur station on Thursday, June 25, 2026, to inspect the ongoing yard remodeling work. The station is set for a major makeover to handle the increasing number of passengers. Officials reviewed the progress and gave directions to ensure the work is completed efficiently.

What new facilities are coming to Madhupur station

The station will be developed under the Amrit Yojana with an investment of approximately 40 crore rupees. To reduce crowding, Platform Number 5 will be constructed soon. A new booking counter will also be opened on the down side to make ticketing easier for passengers. Additionally, a modern coach washing complex has already been started at the station.

How will train operations improve for passengers

The length of the main line will be increased to ensure smoother train movement. This change will help in managing freight trains better so that express trains do not face unnecessary delays. The Giridih line will also be made full length. Furthermore, the railway is working on starting new train services from Madhupur to Tambaram and Bengaluru.
