Railway engineers stated that the groundwater level in the surrounding area is high. Because of this, water seeps into the underpass not only during the rainy season but also in other months. To solve this recurring problem, the Northern Railway Lucknow Division and Moradabad Division took specific actions. The Lakhanoria underpass, located between Uchauliya and Jang Bahadur Ganj stations, was closed for a month from March 20 to April 20, 2026, for repair work. This decision was shared with the District Magistrate (DM) and Superintendent of Police (SP) through official correspondence by Construction Engineer Pawan Mishra to prevent waterlogging before the monsoon.
