Bihar has recently welcomed several Vande Bharat trains, enhancing its rail connectivity. Among these, a special Vande Bharat train service from Delhi to Patna has been introduced specifically for the Chhath festival. Additionally, plans are underway to launch another Vande Bharat train connecting Saharsa to Sealdah, which will be a significant addition to the state’s railway services. This new service will operate via key stations such as Mansi, Khagaria, and Jhajha, and preparations for its operation are being managed by the East Central Railway.

Training and Route Planning for New Services

In preparation for the Saharsa-Sealdah Vande Bharat Express, the East Central Railway has issued directives to the Senior Divisional Operations Manager (DOM) of Samastipur and Danapur divisions. These instructions focus on route planning and the technical training of train managers. Loco pilots and assistant loco pilots will also receive training to ensure smooth operations on the new routes. Once operational, the train manager from the Samastipur division will oversee the service to Jhajha, followed by the transition to the Danapur division.

Enhanced Passenger Experience and Connectivity

The introduction of the Saharsa-Sealdah Vande Bharat Express will significantly enhance travel options for passengers in the region. This superfast train will operate at speeds of up to 110 kilometers per hour on the Saharsa-Mansi route, providing a faster alternative for travelers. While the Haate Bazaar Express currently runs from Saharsa to Sealdah, the Vande Bharat Express will follow a different route, offering improved connectivity for residents of Saharsa, Supaul, and Madhepura. So far, Bihar has received four Vande Bharat trains, including services like Tatanagar-Patna, Bhagalpur-Howrah, Gaya-Howrah, and Deoghar-Varanasi, all inaugurated with the support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
