In a major boost for rail connectivity in Haryana, the Ministry of Railways has officially approved the transition of two popular special train services into permanent, regular operations. This move is set to provide long-term travel reliability for passengers connecting Hisar to key destinations in Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh. According to North Western Railway Chief Public Relations Officer Amit Sudarshan, the transition involves assigning new permanent train numbers and integrating these services into the regular railway timetable.

Enhanced Connectivity to Maharashtra
The Hisar-Kharkia Superfast Express, previously operating as 04725/04726, will now run as 22979/22980. The service will depart from Hisar every Sunday starting July 26, 2026, and return from Kharkia every Monday beginning July 27, 2026. The train is equipped with 19 LHB coaches, including one Third AC, five Second AC, seven Sleeper, and four General coaches. Passengers can expect key stoppages at major hubs including Jaipur, Kota, Ratlam, Vadodara, Surat, Kalyan, and Lonavala.
Strengthening the Hisar-Tirupati Link
The Hisar-Tirupati Express has been renumbered from 04717/04718 to 14723/14724. It will depart from Hisar every Saturday, effective July 25, 2026, and from Tirupati every Monday, starting July 27, 2026. This service utilizes 24 ICF coaches, comprising two Second AC, seven Third AC, eight Sleeper, and four General coaches. Notably, the train will carry an additional temporary Third AC coach until July 31, 2026. The route includes significant halts at Jaipur, Kota, Ujjain, Bhopal, Nagpur, Vijayawada, Nellore, and Renigunta.
