Modernizing Passenger Infrastructure
The Amrit Bharat Station Scheme is designed to redefine the railway experience by integrating modern facilities into existing infrastructure. The comprehensive redesign also includes multi-level parking, the installation of lifts and escalators, and the creation of executive lounges. Status of Completed and Ongoing Projects
As of April-May 2026, six stations have reached completion. According to Railway Public Relations Officer R.K. Singh, the division has submitted video reports to higher authorities, and the process to finalize official inauguration dates is currently underway. This follows the vision set forth in February 2024 by Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Vinay Srivastava, who aimed to elevate nine stations to world-class standards.
However, progress is not uniform across all sites. Reports from July 14, 2026, highlighted that Shahpur Patori Railway Station remains in its initial construction phase after two and a half years, largely due to fund shortages. To mitigate such issues and ensure quality control, the Central Government announced on July 3, 2026, that a special Project Supervision Agency will oversee construction at 20 major stations within the division.
