Integration of AI in Train Services

In an effort to modernize its operations, Indian Railways is incorporating artificial intelligence (AI) technology to enhance passenger services. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav stated that AI is being utilized to improve the processes of seat availability and ticket cancellation.

The IRCTC app will now provide information regarding the percentage of seat availability, and the allocation of seats has been adjusted based on demand at various stations. This implementation of AI is expected to streamline the booking process and increase the chances of obtaining confirmed seats for travelers.

Steps to Create IRCTC ID and Book Tickets Online

To book train tickets online, users must first create an IRCTC ID by visiting the official IRCTC website and clicking on the “Register” option. This process requires the input of personal details such as name, gender, date of birth, and contact information.

Once the ID is created, booking a ticket involves logging into the IRCTC website, selecting the “Book Your Ticket” option, and entering details such as boarding and destination stations, travel date, and class of travel. After providing the necessary passenger information and completing the payment, the ticket will be successfully booked.
