Pilgrims and local residents have reason to celebrate as the North Eastern Railway has officially approved a new temporary stoppage for the Shravani Mela Special trains at Dudhi Railway Station. This move comes as a direct response to a long-standing demand from the local community, aimed at easing travel for thousands of devotees heading to the sacred Deoghar Shravani Mela. The announcement, made on July 24, 2026, has been met with widespread appreciation in the region, with local commuters even marking the occasion by distributing sweets.
Revised Timings and Operational Details
The temporary two-minute halt has been granted to train number 05027 (Deoghar-Barhni Shravani Mela Special) and train number 05028 (Barhni-Deoghar Shravani Mela Special). In addition to the stoppage at Dudhi, officials have also confirmed a similar temporary halt at Ratan Sarai Station to further facilitate smooth transit for pilgrims during the peak Mela season.
For passengers planning their journey, the specific arrival and departure timings at Dudhi Station are as follows:
- Train 05028 (Barhni to Deoghar): The train will arrive at Dudhi Station at 19:45 and depart at 19:47.
- Train 05027 (Deoghar to Barhni): The train is scheduled to arrive at Dudhi at 09:50 and depart at 09:52.
These adjustments ensure that devotees have reliable and convenient access to rail transport while traveling to and from the Mela. By providing these additional stops, the North Eastern Railway aims to manage the increased passenger footfall more effectively, ensuring a safer and more comfortable experience for all travelers. Passengers are advised to double-check their travel schedules and stay updated with the latest notifications via the official IRCTC website or the UTS app before heading to the station.
