This article discusses the demand to extend a train service from Dhanbad to Indore and other railway-related requests made during a meeting.
A meeting was held at the Dhanbad DRM office where members discussed extending a weekly express train service from Dhanbad to Indore. This meeting took place on Thursday in front of DRM Akhilesh Mishra.
Member Vijay Sharma pointed out that currently, the only train available to Indore is the Shipra Express, which often has no tickets available. Extending the new train service to Indore would make it easier for passengers to visit the Mahakal temple in Ujjain.
Other requests included stopping major trains like Howrah-Jodhpur and Sealdah-Ajmer at the Gomoh Junction. They also asked for the restoration of the railway reservation counter at IIT(ISM) Dhanbad and improvements to nearby railway crossings and facilities.
Railway officials agreed to consider the extension to Indore and the reservation counter at IIT. They mentioned that funding for the renovation of the railway institute would be approved after March.
The meeting also saw additional proposals for extending the Howrah-Gaya Vande Bharat Express to Patna and addressing waiting list issues by adding more sleeper and AC coaches in long-distance trains. DRM Akhilesh Mishra noted all suggestions and promised to take action soon.
