India is all set to launch its very first bullet train. On the first day of the new year, the rail minister shared that this train will start running from 15th August 2027.

The first phase will cover a distance of 100 kilometers between Surat and Vapi. The minister joked that people should buy their tickets early for a ride on Independence Day next year.


Many Indians are eagerly waiting for this bullet train, which will not only be a symbol of pride but also show the changing face of India. The train will connect important cities like Ahmedabad and Mumbai.

Currently, about 55% of the train project is complete. Once it’s done, traveling between Ahmedabad and Mumbai will only take about 2 hours and 17 minutes. There will be a total of 12 stations along the route.


The bullet train, modeled after Japan’s Shinkansen, will travel at a maximum speed of 320 kilometers per hour. The trial for India’s first sleeper Vande Bharat train has also been completed, with services expected to start soon.
