Northern Railway Launches Vande Bharat Special Express Train Between New Delhi and Udhampur for Holiday Season

North Railway has announced a new train service, the Vande Bharat Special Express, that will run between New Delhi and Udhampur. This service is set to start on December 12, 2025.

The train will help reduce the pressure on existing train services due to the increasing number of passengers traveling between Delhi and Jammu & Kashmir. It will make three trips between the two cities.


Passengers can expect this train to leave New Delhi at 6:00 AM and arrive at Udhampur at around 2:00 PM after stopping at key stations like Ambala Cantt, Ludhiana, and Pathankot. On its return journey, it will leave Udhampur at 3:00 PM and reach New Delhi by 11:00 PM.

This Vande Bharat train will consist of 20 coaches and will operate entirely on electric traction, covering a distance of 629.72 kilometers. The maintenance will be handled by the Delhi Division.


The introduction of this special train aims to provide better travel options for passengers and ease congestion. It will run temporarily from December 12 to December 14, 2025.
