This article talks about train delays and cancellations in Lucknow due to heavy fog.
Lucknow has been facing heavy fog recently, which has caused serious disruptions in train services. On Saturday, IRCTC cancelled the Tejas Express train because of this bad weather. Other trains like the Shatabdi Express and Vande Bharat Express also got stuck due to the conditions.
The Tejas Express, which was supposed to leave for New Delhi at 6 AM on Friday, finally departed at 5:24 PM. It reached New Delhi nearly 12 hours late, at 12:35 AM on Saturday. The return journey was no better, as it left New Delhi at 2:11 AM instead of 3:30 PM the same day.
Passengers who were waiting at the Lucknow junction faced long delays. The train arrived at 3:50 PM on Saturday, which was a delay of about 17 hours. Because of this, IRCTC decided to cancel the Tejas Express for that day. Other trains were also delayed, like the Vande Bharat Express which left at 8:51 PM instead of 5:10 PM on Friday.
Some other trains also experienced significant delays. For example, the Shramjeevi Superfast Express came in nearly three hours late, while the GorakhDham Express was delayed by a shocking 13 hours. Passengers had to wait in the cold at the platforms, which was quite uncomfortable.
With the fog continuing, it’s likely that train services will remain affected for a while. Passengers are advised to check their train schedules before heading to the station to avoid long waits and confusion.
Summary:
- Tejas Express cancelled due to fog.
