What’s inside:

This article shares news about a successful speed trial of the Vande Bharat Express train between Gaya and Saramatand stations.

On Wednesday, the Vande Bharat Express train successfully completed a speed trial of 160 kilometers per hour. This trial took place between Gaya and Saramatand stations, part of the East Central Railway’s Grandcord rail section.

The railway is working hard to operate trains at this speed on the DDU-Dhanbad division, especially from Gaya Junction to DDU. They aim to increase the speed from 130 to 160 kilometers per hour on the Delhi-Hawrah route.

For passengers, this means faster travel times on this route. The plan includes running trains at 160 kilometers per hour over a distance of about 88 kilometers from Saramatand station to Gaya Junction.

Prior to this trial, there were regular speed tests conducted with different configurations. The trials included a two-day single engine test and tests with both the Vande Bharat Express and other coach types.

As a next step, more trials are planned with various types of trains, including goods trains. The railway’s technical teams will continue monitoring these speed trials closely.

Summary:

  • Vande Bharat Express completed a successful speed trial at 160 km/h.

  • The trial took place between Gaya and Saramatand stations.

  • Trains will soon run at this speed on the DDU-Dhanbad route.

  • Future trials will include different train types and configurations.

  • Railway teams will continue to monitor and assess the trials.
