Heavy rainfall and waterlogging in Mumbai have severely disrupted rail services. Many trains traveling between Rajasthan and Mumbai are cancelled, rescheduled, or diverted. Western Railway and Central Railway reported that landslides on the Mumbai-Pune route and flooding in the Mumbai Central division caused these interruptions.

Which trains are rescheduled or diverted

Some trains are operating on changed schedules or shorter routes. The Bandra Terminus-Bikaner Express (21903) was rescheduled to depart on July 7 instead of July 6. Other trains like the Ajmer-Dadar Express and Hisar-Khadki Express were terminated early at Navsari and Vapi stations respectively. The Mumbai Central-New Delhi Rajdhani and Mumbai Central-Jaipur Superfast also departed later than their usual timings.

What is the reason for these disruptions

The primary cause is the torrential rain in Mumbai and Maharashtra, which led to severe waterlogging on the tracks. Furthermore, landslides occurred at two locations in the Bhor Ghat section between Karjat and Lonavala on the Mumbai-Pune route. This affected all three rail lines, forcing Central Railway to cancel 16 trains, including the Deccan Express and Sinhgad Express.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Which major trains are cancelled on July 6 and 7?

Key cancellations include the Bandra Terminus-Jaipur Express, August Kranti Rajdhani, and Bandra Terminus-Hisar Special due to waterlogging in Mumbai.

Landslides at two locations in the Bhor Ghat section between Karjat and Lonavala have disrupted all three rail lines.
