The North Western Railway (NWR) has announced a major capacity boost to assist passengers in the Patan region, including those traveling via Dabla Railway Station, as the busy Sawan month and Kanwar Yatra season approach in 2026. To manage the expected surge in footfall, the railway administration is prioritizing seat availability through the following measures:

  • Deployment of 135 additional coaches across 49 pairs of trains throughout August 2026.
  • Introduction of temporary two-minute stoppages at Raiwala, Motichur, and Jwalapur stations for four major trains from July 30 to August 13, 2026.
  • Extension of the 09639/09640 Madar-Rewari-Madar Special train by 11 additional trips between August 1 and August 11, 2026.

Supporting Pilgrims and General Passengers

According to Amit Sudarshan, Chief Public Relations Officer of North Western Railway, these strategic adjustments are designed to ensure a seamless travel experience for both Kanwar Yatra pilgrims and general commuters. The Sawan month is observed from July 30 to August 28, 2026, while the high-traffic Kanwar Yatra period is scheduled between July 30 and August 11, 2026. By increasing the coach count, NWR aims to alleviate the pressure on existing services that pass through key stations like Dabla.

Strategic Stoppages and Extended Services

In addition to the increased coach capacity, NWR is focusing on last-mile connectivity for pilgrims attending the Kanwar Mela. The provision of temporary two-minute halts at Raiwala, Motichur, and Jwalapur is a targeted effort to accommodate the heavy influx of devotees during the first half of August. Furthermore, the extension of the Madar-Rewari-Madar Special train serves as a vital link for those traveling through the region during this peak festive window. Passengers are encouraged to check the updated schedules on the official IRCTC portal or the NTES app to stay informed about the latest timing changes and coach configurations.
