These sleeper trains will be manufactured by Kinet Railway Solutions, a joint venture between India and Russia. They plan to create a total of 120 sleeper Vande Bharat trains, which will include 1,920 coaches. The first prototype of this train is likely to be launched by June 2026.
Three companies have been awarded the contract to produce these sleeper trains. This includes the public sector company BEML, Kinet Railway Solutions, and a consortium of Titagarh Rail Systems and BHEL. The first two sleeper trains will be launched together, with the second one expected to be ready by October 2025.
