Launch of India-Nepal Maitri Yatra Train
The India-Nepal Maitri Yatra Train, operated by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourist Corporation (IRCTC), will be flagged off today by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav at 4 PM from Hazrat Nizamuddin Junction in Delhi. This deluxe AC Bharat Gaurav tourist train is part of a series of special trains designed to cater to tourists, similar to previous initiatives like the Ramayana Yatra and Buddhist Circuit trains. The Maitri Yatra Train aims to facilitate travel for tourists visiting significant locations in India and Nepal.
Route and Stops of the Special Train
The train will embark on a seven-day journey covering approximately 4,000 kilometers, making several stops at key stations. After departing from Hazrat Nizamuddin, it will make stops at Ghaziabad, Chhipyana, Aligarh, Tundla, Etawah, Kanpur Central, Lucknow, Ayodhya Cantonment, Lohta, Varanasi, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay, Patliputra, Muzaffarnagar, and Sitamarhi before reaching Gorakhpur at 10:30 PM on September 23.
Tour Experience and Return Journey
While in Gorakhpur, tourists will have the opportunity to travel by road to various attractions in Nepal. The Maitri Yatra Train is set to return from Gorakhpur on September 28 at 3:30 PM, arriving back at Hazrat Nizamuddin on September 29 at 12:15 PM. Railway officials emphasize that the train has been designed with passenger comfort and safety as a top priority, ensuring a pleasant travel experience for all onboard.
