Indian Railways has announced a 7.5-hour mega block on April 26, 2026, for the construction of a rail underpass in Lakhisarai. The work will take place between Abhaypur and Kajra stations at level crossing gates 26 and 27. This will lead to the cancellation of several MEMU trains and delays for long-distance services.

What are the block timings and route changes?
The mega block is scheduled from 07:30 AM to 02:30 PM on Sunday, April 26, 2026. During this window, Malda Town-Kiul Express (13409/13410) will run only up to Jamalpur and return from there. The Sahibganj-Jamalpur Passenger will be limited to Bhagalpur. Trains like Kamakhya-Delhi and Patna-CSMT Mumbai Express will also see route changes during this period.
What are the development plans for these stations?
DRM Manish Kumar Gupta recently inspected Abhaypur and Kajra stations to speed up development. He directed that Abhaypur station be developed on the lines of Malda station, including widening platforms 2 and 3 at a cost of ₹14.76 crore. Additionally, basic facilities like drinking water, sheds, and toilets will be improved at Kajra station to help passengers.
