Pali Marwar Railway Station is getting a complete makeover under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. The station, which was built during the British era, is being modernized to provide better facilities to passengers. The project aims to transform the station into a state-of-the-art hub by the year 2027.
What changes are happening at Pali Railway Station?
The redevelopment process started with the demolition of old structures to make space for new amenities. Bulldozers have razed the buildings behind platform number two, as well as the waiting room, canteen, parcel office, and railway police outpost on platform number one. To ensure passenger convenience during construction, temporary seating has been set up in the entrance hall, and the parcel office has been moved to the old RMS building and areas near the underpass.
What new facilities will passengers get?
The modernized station will feature several high-tech additions to make travel easier. A new north-facing entrance will be built behind platform two. The project includes a large Cover Over Platform (COP) and improved connectivity through a new Foot Over Bridge (FOB). The following facilities are part of the plan:
| Facility | Details |
|---|---|
| Cover Over Platform (COP) | 4308 square meters |
| Foot Over Bridge (FOB) | 6 meters wide |
| Lifts | 4 Units |
| Escalators | 4 Units |
Who is managing the project and what is the timeline?
The redevelopment is a joint effort by Indian Railways and the Ministry of Railways, overseen by the Jodhpur Division of North Western Railway. Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone on February 26, 2024, and physical work began in late January 2026. According to Hitesh Yadav, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager of Jodhpur Division, the work is expected to take about two years to complete, with a target deadline of 2027.
