The operation was carried out by a joint team of specialists including Dr. Riti Isha from Chakradharpur Railway Hospital and ENT Chief Dr. K.P. Verma from Central Hospital, Garden Reach, Kolkata. The surgery took place in a modular operation theater complex that was inaugurated on March 24, 2026, by GM Anil Kumar Mishra at a cost of ₹4 crore.

Chief Medical Superintendent (CMS) Dr. S.K. Mishra stated that such modern surgeries are usually expensive in private hospitals and hard to find locally. Now, common citizens can access this treatment affordably through the Ayushman Bharat scheme, which was launched at this hospital on April 1, 2021. The hospital aims to provide better health facilities to all citizens of West Singhbhum, not just railway employees.
