To accommodate the massive influx of devotees during the Kanwar Mela 2026, Northern Railway has announced a strategic expansion of train services connecting Delhi and Haridwar. The annual pilgrimage, which runs from July 30 to August 14, will see thousands of Shiv devotees traveling to perform the sacred Jalabhishek on August 11. To manage this rush, officials have extended the existing Delhi Junction-Shamli MEMU services and introduced several new special trains to ensure seamless travel for pilgrims.

Revised Train Schedules
Northern Railway has confirmed that Train No. 64033 will run daily from Delhi Junction to Haridwar between July 29 and August 13. The train is scheduled to depart Delhi at 4:25 PM and reach Haridwar at 11:00 PM. For the return leg, Train No. 64034 will operate from July 30 to August 14, departing Haridwar at 4:00 AM and arriving back in Delhi at 10:10 AM. This extended route will now include additional stoppages at Roorkee and Jwalapur to better serve the pilgrims.
In addition to the Delhi-Shamli extension, the railway has extended the Delhi-Saharanpur MEMU and Delhi-Shamli DEMU services to Haridwar. Furthermore, special services between Haridwar-Delhi Shahdara, Yoganagari Rishikesh-Delhi Shahdara, and a new Bathinda-Haridwar special train have been operationalized to handle the seasonal passenger load.

Railway authorities are working closely with local police to ensure station safety. Commuters are advised that strict guidelines are in place regarding the size of Kanwars, which must have a maximum height of 6 feet, while tableaux are restricted to 10 feet. Carrying weapons or pointed objects is strictly prohibited, and there is a ban on the use of loud DJs and modified vehicle silencers.
