Indian Railways has officially announced that the Prayagraj-Udhna Amrit Bharat Express (Train No. 20437/20438) will commence commercial operations with a scheduled stoppage at Idgah (Agra Idgah) station starting August 24, 2026. This development follows the regularization of the train service, which previously operated as a special service (04125/04126), and marks a significant boost for passengers traveling between Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Gujarat.

Key highlights of this railway update include:

  • The addition of Idgah station to the route to enhance connectivity for Agra residents.
  • The service is part of the Railway Board’s initiative to launch seven new Amrit Bharat Express routes.
  • The train serves as a vital link for pilgrims heading to the Sangam in Prayagraj and commuters traveling to urban hubs in Rajasthan and Gujarat.
  • The route covers major stations including Fatehpur, Govindpuri, Etawah, Tundla, Bayana, Kota, and Ratlam.

Enhanced Connectivity for Passengers

Sanjay Kumar Gautam, the Public Relations Officer for the Agra Rail Division, confirmed that the inclusion of the Idgah stop is a strategic move to facilitate smoother travel logistics. By integrating this stop, the North Central Railway aims to provide a direct and efficient rail link for passengers commuting across these three key states, significantly reducing the transit hurdles for those traveling toward the western regions of India.

Operational Schedule and Timings

For travelers planning their journeys, Train No. 20437 departs from Prayagraj every Monday morning at 5:20 AM. The train is scheduled to reach Kota by 5:45 PM and eventually arrive at Udhna on Tuesday morning at 4:05 AM. For the return leg, Train No. 20438 departs from Udhna on Tuesday mornings at 6:45 AM.

This weekly service is expected to benefit a wide range of passengers, from pilgrims visiting Prayagraj to business travelers and tourists moving between the industrial hubs of Gujarat and the historic cities of Rajasthan. With the regularization of this route, Indian Railways continues its commitment to improving passenger experience through the modern and comfortable Amrit Bharat Express fleet.
