The Railway Ministry has announced some good news for Punjab during the Navratri festival. A new Vande Bharat train is proposed to run from Delhi to Firozpur Cantt, which is a big boost for travelers in the region.
This train will operate six days a week, stopping at important stations like Faridkot, Bathinda, and Patiala. In addition, a new railway line between Rajpura and Mohali is also on the cards, costing around 443 crores.
The Vande Bharat train will cover the distance of 486 kilometers in about six hours and forty minutes. It will leave Firozpur Cantt at 7:55 AM and reach Delhi by 2:35 PM. Conversely, it will depart Delhi at 4:00 PM and arrive back in Firozpur Cantt by 10:35 PM.
This new service will not only make traveling easier but is also expected to help the local economy grow. The new railway line will reduce travel time by 66 kilometers and ease congestion on current routes.
Looking ahead, these proposals will be sent to the Prime Minister for approval. The developments will improve connectivity in Punjab and make it easier for people to access various regions, including religious and tourist spots.
