What’s inside:

This article discusses delays faced by passengers on Shatabdi and Tejas Express trains due to fog and congestion on tracks.

Recently, a passenger named Prakhar was travelling with his family on the Shatabdi Express from Lucknow to New Delhi. They left home on time, expecting the train to depart as scheduled. However, they received a message just before reaching the station that the train would be delayed.

Initially, the train was set to leave at 4:30 PM, but as they waited on Platform 6, the time changed to 7 PM. Finally, the train arrived from New Delhi at 7 PM, but they had to wait an extra hour for cleaning before they could board.

The delays are due to heavy fog and a situation called “bunching,” where multiple trains get stuck on the same track. As a result, trains like Shatabdi, Tejas, and Vande Bharat are running several hours late. For example, the Shatabdi train, which normally takes 5:18 hours to reach Kanpur, is now taking up to 9 hours.

On another day, the Shatabdi Express that usually leaves at 6:10 AM was delayed and only departed at 9:38 AM, reaching Lucknow at 6:51 PM. Similarly, the Tejas Express faced major delays, with one train leaving 11 hours late.

Passengers are feeling frustrated with these delays. Many are saying it might have been better to travel by car instead. Some passengers have suggested that the railway authorities need to consider canceling one of the trains to manage the situation better.

Summary:

  • Shatabdi and Tejas Express trains are facing significant delays.

  • The delays are caused by fog and track congestion.

  • Travel times have increased from hours to almost double.

  • Passengers are frustrated and considering other travel options.

  • Suggestions are being made to cancel some trains to ease the crisis.
