Kanpur’s central station is facing delays in train schedules, causing passenger inconveniences and cancellations.
Trains at Kanpur’s central station are running late, making life difficult for travelers. Many trains are arriving hours after their scheduled times, with some passengers waiting in the cold for long periods.
For example, the Tejas Express from New Delhi to Lucknow arrived 17 hours late, while the Vande Bharat train from Ayodhya reached 8 hours late. A total of 64 trains were delayed by up to 19 hours, leading to 1,296 passengers cancelling their journeys.
Passengers noticed that the evening trains often arrived the next morning, while morning trains were delayed until nighttime. For instance, the Shatabdi Express from New Delhi, scheduled for 6:20 AM, reached at 2:11 PM instead.
The delay has caused frustration among travelers. The central station was crowded with passengers checking for updates at inquiry counters while waiting areas were packed, with many trying to stay warm.
