What’s inside:

Shiv Sena Jammu and Kashmir has raised objections against the Rajya Sabha’s advice to avoid patriotic slogans like Jai Hind and Vande Mataram.

Shiv Sena Jammu and Kashmir has expressed strong disagreement with a recent suggestion made in the Rajya Sabha. This suggestion advised MPs to refrain from chanting patriotic slogans such as Jai Hind and Vande Mataram.

Manish Sahani, the state president of Shiv Sena, stated that this advice hurts the feelings of those who love their country. He believes that it reveals the true faces of those who claim to be nationalists.

Sahani pointed out that Vande Mataram means “I bow to Mother India,” and questioned why there should be any issue with saying it. He noted that while the nation is celebrating 150 years of the Vande Bharat song, the Rajya Sabha is trying to restrict the use of the phrase.

He further highlighted the contradiction in the BJP’s stance. Earlier, BJP leaders insisted that those who live in India must chant Vande Mataram, but now they are opposing it. This, according to Sahani, shows a double standard.

Moving forward, Sahani urged that the sentiments of the people should be respected. He believes that there should be no interference with the patriotic feelings of Indian citizens.

Summary:

  • Shiv Sena Jammu and Kashmir disagrees with Rajya Sabha’s advice.

  • They feel it disrespects national sentiments.

  • Vande Mataram is celebrated, yet restricted in the assembly.

  • BJP’s changing stance is criticized.

  • Call for respect towards people’s patriotic feelings.
