This article discusses the upcoming expansion of the Tata Nagar railway station with the addition of Vande Bharat train maintenance and coaching facilities.
Good news for Tata Nagar! A new chapter is about to begin in its railway history as plans for a maintenance and coaching depot for Vande Bharat trains are moving forward.
The South Eastern Railway has sent a revised proposal for this important project to the Railway Board in Delhi. It has been pending for approval since December 23, and the total cost is around 383.79 crores.
Once approved, this project will significantly enhance railway development in the Chakradharpur division. Currently, the region faces limitations for operating new Vande Bharat trains due to insufficient maintenance facilities.
The proposal aims to create a modern coaching depot and maintenance yard, addressing previous technical and space issues that delayed the project. The initial estimated cost was around 400 crores, but it has now been revised.
If the Railway Board approves the proposal this financial year, the tender process will begin soon. This development is expected to improve train operations and services, benefiting passengers traveling to major routes like Patna and Varanasi.
