The Samastipur Railway Station is undergoing a major transformation under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. The Ministry of Railways started this project in February 2023 to modernize 1275 stations across the country. What new facilities will passengers get at Samastipur Junction
The redevelopment of Samastipur Junction is moving fast with a target completion date of 2028. A five-story building is currently under construction, and two floors are already complete. Passengers will get several modern amenities once the project is finished:
- Roof Plaza and Shopping Zones
- Food Courts and Kids Play Area
- Multi-level Parking, Lifts, and Escalators
- Executive Lounges and Modern Waiting Areas
- Special facilities for Divyangjan (differently-abled)
What is the status of other stations in Samastipur Division
Apart from the main junction, several other stations are also being upgraded. Six stations, including Salona and Saharsa, are already completed and waiting for their official inauguration. DRM Vinay Kumar Srivastava mentioned that four stations in the division were expected to be ready by June 2025.

Upcoming train services for the region
