Uttarakhand has received a major boost in rail infrastructure with the launch of the new Ramnagar-Dehradun Express (15310/15309). This bi-weekly service was officially flagged off on July 18, 2026, by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, who joined the ceremony via video conferencing. The train aims to bridge the gap between key districts of Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh, fulfilling a long-standing demand from the local residents of the region.
- Train Schedule: Operates twice a week on Wednesdays and Fridays.
- Departure from Ramnagar: 5:50 AM, arriving in Dehradun at 12:40 PM.
- Return from Dehradun: 3:55 PM, reaching Ramnagar at 11:30 PM.
- Coach Composition: Includes AC II, AC III, AC Chair Car, Sleeper, Second Class Chair Car, and General Second Class coaches.
- Key Stoppages: Kashipur, Roshanpur, Pipalsana, Moradabad, Najibabad, and Haridwar.
Enhanced Connectivity for Tourists and Pilgrims
This new rail link is expected to be a game-changer for regional tourism and trade. Known as the gateway to the famous Jim Corbett National Park, Ramnagar now enjoys a direct, convenient connection to the state capital. The service is set to provide seamless travel for students, farmers, and businessmen, while also offering a major convenience for pilgrims heading toward the Char Dham Yatra. Visitors looking to explore the Garjiya Devi Temple and Sitabani will also benefit from the improved frequency and accessibility of this route.

During the inauguration ceremony at Ramnagar Railway Station, Rajya Sabha MP Anil Baluni extended his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for prioritizing this transit link. The event saw the presence of notable dignitaries including MP Trivendra Singh Rawat, MP Mala Rajya Lakshmi Shah, MLA Diwan Singh Bisht, North Eastern Railway General Manager Uday Borwankar, and Izzatnagar Divisional Railway Manager Ms. Veena Sinha. Railway officials emphasized that this development is a reflection of the government’s commitment to expanding the rail network in hilly terrains to ensure better socio-economic integration for the people of Uttarakhand.
