Indian Railways has officially launched a new direct bi-weekly express train service connecting the capital city of Dehradun with Ramnagar in Uttarakhand. Starting from July 18, 2026, the 15310/15309 Ramnagar–Dehradun–Ramnagar Express aims to bridge the connectivity gap between the Kumaon and Garhwal regions, fulfilling a long-standing demand from local residents. The announcement was made by Rajya Sabha MP Anil Baluni, who credited the Ministry of Railways for prioritizing this essential infrastructure project.
- Service route: Direct connectivity between Dehradun and Ramnagar.
- Train numbers: 15310 (Ramnagar to Dehradun) and 15309 (Dehradun to Ramnagar).
- Frequency: Operates twice a week on Wednesdays and Fridays.
- Coach classes: AC 2-Tier, AC 3-Tier, AC Chair Car, Sleeper, Second Class Chair Car, and General Second Class.
Schedule and Route Details
The train is designed to facilitate convenient travel for both daily commuters and tourists. The service departs Ramnagar at 5:50 a.m. and reaches Dehradun at 12:40 p.m.. For the return trip, the train departs Dehradun at 3:55 p.m. and arrives back in Ramnagar at 11:30 p.m. on the same day. En route, the train will make scheduled stops at Kashipur, Roshanpur, Pipalsana, Moradabad, Najibabad, and Haridwar. While the service is currently running on a trial basis, railway officials have indicated that the frequency could be increased to four or five days a week depending on passenger demand.
