To assist candidates appearing for the upcoming Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) examinations, Eastern Railway has announced the operation of a special train service between Tatanagar and Rampurhat (via Malda Town). These special trains are designed to manage the surge in passenger traffic and ensure that students can travel to their exam centers comfortably.
Key details of the special train service include:
• Train number 08181 will run from Tatanagar to Rampurhat for 10 trips.
• Train number 08182 will run from Rampurhat to Tatanagar for 10 trips.
• The service will operate between August 3 and August 14, 2026.
• The train will feature General Second Class and Sleeper Class coaches.
Schedule and Timings
Train number 08181 is scheduled to depart from Tatanagar at 7:30 PM on August 3-6 and August 9-14, 2026, reaching Rampurhat at 9:30 AM the following day. Conversely, train number 08182 will depart from Rampurhat at 10:00 AM on August 4-7 and August 10-15, 2026, arriving at Tatanagar at 12:45 AM the next day.
Route and Stoppages
To ensure wide accessibility for candidates across the region, the train will make scheduled halts in both directions at several key stations. The identified stoppages include Dankuni, Barddhaman, Bolpur Shantiniketan, Rampurhat, Pakur, New Farakka, and Malda Town.
Railway authorities have confirmed that the train will be composed of General Second Class and Sleeper Class coaches to accommodate the high volume of students. Regarding ticket reservations, the Eastern Railway has stated that the booking dates for these special services will be announced shortly.
